Gut Health, Metabolism, & Skin

Oftentimes, women in their 30’s and 40’s start feeling like their metabolism slows down. While it easily can, oftentimes the feeling of a slowing metabolism, is due to decreased functionality of inner systems.

We are told to get on the Peleton and eat healthily. Yes, AND any aging human needs to do everything they can to keep their organs and inner systems from becoming stagnant.

I’ll talk more about this. For now, here is a personal story.

Last month, upon returning from California, I did a 10-day celery juice ‘cleanse,’ or replenish, which is what it actually felt like. The replenish entailed juicing celery, lemon, and sometimes beets and apples in the morning, on an empty stomach. After an hour or 2, I would resume my normal day’s eating. This 10-day replenish was largely motivated by a sluggish feeling in the morning, as well as mental fog which was not exciting for me, as I like to get sh*t done.

I have to say, for someone who is anti-cleanses, I do recommend a replenish such as this, as not only did I feel like a superwoman waking up and having this allstar regimen, I got to eat normally for the rest of the day, AND I also eliminated old waste that seemed to be stuck to my intestines. The old was not waste from my California trip, this waste was o l d.

Undigested food, or waste that is not eliminated, can wedge itself in the pockets of intestinal walls. Humans can hold 40-60lbs of old waste in the intestinal walls. So when people say they eat healthy, I’m actually more interested in how they are digesting, absorbing, and eliminating as THAT is what is going to make or break their metabolism, energy, skin, and progress in general.

See cravings are usually a sign of a depletion of some sort - energetic, nutrient, hormonal.

The live, organic, high vibrational nutrients from the juice fuel each cell so they are rich and thriving. This means the organs are supported to function actively.

I noticed my skin looking clearer, brighter, and more radiant. Yet another example of how when our organs are active and functioning optimally, it shows on the outer body. Optimal organ function is what I talk about in this YouTube video as well. Many times, women in their 30’s and 40’s start feeling like their metabolism slows down. While it easily can, oftentimes the feeling of a slowing metabolism, is due to decreased functionality of inner systems. Fat-burning can feel plateaued, muscle metabolism can feel slow. Then if we continue to only follow allopathic principles, we become plagued by hormone imbalances, perimenopause, menopause, weight gain, PMS, sleepless nights, bloating, and much more.

So, what to do? Instead of setting new running goals, my advice is to preserve energy for your body, tissues, gut to heal by coming up with a gentler movement routine - like a combination of Yoga, Stretching, Fascial Stretch Therapy, Percussion Therapy, walking, and breathwork AND at the same time work on optimizing the inner systems so you don’t continue to burnout the previous lining of the GI system, and burnout the body in general. This is when we notice our metabolism slows down and it takes SO much to maintain or make progress.

If you are unsure how to go about improving your metabolism using these principles, contact me to share your story, or get onto my waitlist to learn more on what results can be possible for you if we work together. Lastly, get onto my Feminine Fitness email list.
